Who owns this yard in Shirehampton ?

I passed this yard on the way up from Cardiff to Bristol earlier in the summer. It had probably a dozen or so large boats sitting in the mud, and other goings on the hard behind the shrubbery, certainly not dinghy's. Some of it looked like a boat grave yard, but there were definitely signs of life there.

Now I'm confused - I managed to get hold of someone who runs the club there- they said it's just for dinghy sailing and there isn't any places for yachts. But from those photos and arial views it looks like a boat yard to me.
My guess would be that you were talking to someone from the club opposite PCC. That is a few hundred metres upstream from the place you first mentioned. Sorry I can't help with details of the area, I only know it from the river. You try someone from PCC (Portishead Cruising Club)

Case closed- after cycling there for an hour getting lost down some pretty crappy paths I arrived to a locked gate. Gave the guy a ring but unfortunately they are at full capacity already. Very intertestinng guy though gave me a tour of the boat yard and all of the horror story boat projects that have been abondoned over the years :D

Slightly surprised they can't do something for a paying customer if they're full of abandoned (non-paying?) 'projects'

Every time I look at a boat now I see the 500 odd images flash by of your renovation haha . There was 1 or two that where really gone. A Plywood boat that really was at the end of its life and a Norman cruiser 25 that was fairly battered.

A few of them are abandoned but the mooring fees still paid which makes it awkward for them by the sounds of it.

Sounds like me and my darn dreams, boats just flashing by, i fell in last night then woke up lol.

I find them the best at times, if owner details can be sought, or even the yard owner is willing to ask theymay well sell. i have had a few real bargains like that.

There was a few boats that had been sat in the yard for between 10 and fifteen years and no touched at all, but fee`s still paid. I got tone that had been sat for near 20 years and i asked, well meitherd for it and they sold it me.

Sad waist of god boats.
