Obviously not me, so Sorry Duncan, I missed you. When entering Poole always take a deal of care as recently, as on Friday, they change their mind as to which Pontoon to berth on just as you enter.

Had left Mobile at home (idiot) and missed a call from White Knight too! It seems Rick P saw us despite salvaging all & Sundry. However interestingly we had a very near miss with a drifting 40+ foot cruiser that had got at least 10 foot of chain out!! Then wondered why he had drifted. One of our guests asked if there was a tax on the amount of chain one put out??

Anyway, there did seem to be a distinct lack of boats out, was it the weather or are finances that tight, as we seem to be experiencing in our business along with Ikea, Jewson and Porcelanosa it seems?? Could it be road diesel prices explains why we had a blast back from Soton to Brum, last night as well??

Waved at everyone on the water though, raggies and stinkies!! Mind you 6pm yesterday running from safe water mark in towards Needles, by heck, a BIG following sea put a right smile on my face on the fly of the F43 and the fear of God in my two lads behind us in the 22' Cougar!! HAPPY DAYS!

hehe - yep we with John Sunday afternoon.

I couldn't ring you as I haven't your number - lost phone problem!

np about not waving - you were concentrating on the chain ferry at the time I suspect. As you say not a lot of boats out were there.

All the best.

A) We wave to, or acknowledge, whoever it may be. Not a boating thing - just courtesy in the same way we smile or say hello to people when they walk past our house and we're in the garden.
B) It was cold, grey, wet at times and windy which kept our boating to a minimum - not fair on the kids. Apparently the various solent marinas were chocca block so I guess most people dashed from port to port.

Loads of raggies out Sunday afternoon though....

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The TWO boatowners that we saw with their boats off their trailers well short of the water at West Bay slipway over the weekend sure did notice the people on the sea wall... only they werent waving.. they were holding their sides to stop them splitting with laughter...

Early season, well greased and serviced rollers... Give them the benefit of the doubt... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
