I've just been let down. The scrotes said they would do it months ago, then they had supplier problems /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just been on the phone to them, still not done. So I said, maybe I better get some one else, he said yes ok then.

Jeesh. Wish I had a business like theres.

So who else is there!!

hi have you tried flexi covers(DAVID GREY) i think they are in your area (tel 01202721309) allways been very helpfull to me regards m m 1.

Yep, there the ones thats pissed me about, did a superb mending job last time for about 50 quid.

Gave them about an 800 quid job and they have done nothing but promise next week, for months.

Some one mentioned some one else in Plymouth a few weeks ago.

There's someone over by Sutton who did the covers on Eos, did a good job but can't remember the name. Sutton Marina will probably know.

Also seen these lot just up from Mayflower Marina :-

None of these are a recommend by me by the way - I've always been told to use slikcut.

Haydn,

That would probably be me!

I've used Danny Howard of Maritime Upholstery for the last few years and he's just re-upholstered my boat!

You're welcome to have a look round it at the weekend if you're around and I'll introduce you if you're happy with what you see!

I'm moored up in Sutton.

PM me if you would like to make arrangements or if you have any questions.

Garry

Thanks fer them, There was another lot some one was recommending, did'nt take much notice at the time.

I thought Slik cut excellent when I gave them a little mending job a few months ago. Thats why I went straight back to them.

The "Problems with suppliers" sounded a bit ominous though.

Anyway, he will probably have a few less customers to bother about now.

Sorry to hear that Haydn... that will temper my enthusiasm for them when next I need them.

I must agree that suplier problems does sound a bit like an excuse but I can't imagine why they would want to make up a story ilike that if it wasn't true... I suppose it depends on how they handle the customer and whether they keep them properly informed or just promise dates they can't keep.

When you find someone you are happy with please post and let us know.

I was happy with Slik cut, got to the boat after it got back to Plymouth, after the sinking do. Saw the covers and seats all ripped and broke. Not blaming the life boat or fire bregade men. But it needed fixing. Yep they said, next week. Did a quote and all. It was not done last time we went down.

Now how come they always ask. When are you coming down next /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Like, they can fend you off for a few weeks more. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Tuther gripe, is. The aft bilge pump was not working. Kept ringing SMS to see if it was done. Cover leaking like a sive, lumber hole blocked if you spit at them. Got an answer from SMS after the fourth call. Yep, all done. Then got a call from the marina, wheres the keys! You have them I says. So who wants them, put them on. It's a bloke from SMS at 6pm wanting the keys. They have them. So it's coveres leaking like no tomorrow, engineers that cant repair there own problems after weeks. It's a bloody circus all we need is the monkies. Weve got a bleeding circus.

John McKillop from Kingsbridge has a good reputation.
I've used them a couple of times for boat covers.
They do seem to be permanently busy though.
Google them for contact details.

Think all will be very busy at this time of year so Good Luck.

PS So you wouldn't recommend SMS then, either /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

SMS have done an excelent job, but for the price, could not expect anything less. But like the rest, everything is going to be tomorrow, but it never happens.

Came across a cover maker near Mayflower. At least they were honest and said 2/3 months. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
