Who designed the Leisure 27SL/Mirage 270???

Dave feltam is still around, he designed the Snapdragons for Thames marine & Cobra range amongst others before going to Prouts & designing most of their range as well. I dont think he was responsible for the 2700, i will ask him when i see him next.
I worked at Thames marine in 79-80 & helped build the very first Mirage 2700 it was based on a mirage 28 hull with retrousse stern lopped off & the bilge keel stubs were moved slightly, the chief difference was in the new raised deck moulding that was somewhat different to the hull & caused us huge problems fitting the two together!
As for the designer i cant remember his name but he used to wear cowboy boots!

Interesting story thanks for sharing it. I'd be very interested if you did get back.

David Feltham claims the Mirage 28 design, http:///www.cobra-seawolf.com/ModelRange.htm
So presumably, based on what you say, he has at least a part interest in the 2700.

Looks about right to me, if you superimpose the M 28 (White lines) over the (2700Black lines) it more or less corresponds. Even the accommodation lines up pretty well.

Be nice to get a few more details if you talk to him.

Apologies, thought previous reply dident work.

Sadly that is the earlier Leisure 27 which shares the same designer as many of the other boats in the range at that time such as the Leisure 23.

EDIT: Thames Marine's design team seems to be credited it's design in most adverts. Some more information here as well http://www.leisureowners.org.uk/site/contents/leisure27sl_new.shtml
