Whitlock steering shaft taper ?

We have a 1978 Seastream 34 manufactured in Hamble, UK. the steering pedestal is whitlock, similar to the cobra, but not exact. I am having trouble finding details of the taper which appears to be fairly shallow.. I am working with Goiot to fit one of the new quick release hubs, they only have details for post 88 and pre 88 whitlocks, and the latest hub supplied does not fit. Lewmar, who now own whitlock, were not very helpful.....
the system looks similar to a cobra, the brake is on the ouptut shaft to the wheel and consists a a wheel screw that presses a piece of nylon onto a hub on the steering shaft, the internal gears are both full circle bevel drives.


any ideas of the exact model and taper ?
