Whisker pole lenghts

How do I determine the lenght of a whisker pole or should it be adjustable?

I think this was raised before, about six months ago.
Your ideal length would normally be the length of the foot of your foresail. If you have roller reefing then it is better to be adjustable.
The normal maximum spinny pole length is the horizontal distance from the front of the mast to the tack fitting on the bow.
