While we\'re slagging off MBY...

Might I just comment that if I see another article from Ray Bulman gloating over the imminent demise of red diesel, and how it will mean a welcome return to The Good Old Days of Boating, I think I'll scream.

He started the ball rolling with his smug treatise on the virtues of displacement cruising and traditional navigation skills. Now we have another trip down memory lane, extolling the glories of coal as an alternative to the infernal combustion engine.

What's next, Ray? Harking back to the good old days of sail? Scurvy, keelhauling and weevils in the ship's biscuits? Perhaps an nice article on the lost art of carvel planking and DIY seam caulking? How to make your own coracle, perhaps?

Ah yes...that's the one. Just need Kate to sign that model release form and we'll be able to earn a few quid for the MBY drinking fund

P'raps Kim could find out what he's doing these days, do him a favour and see if he wants a job, writing up these pics?

Bye the way, how old is old for GRP motorboats then?

Re: On the other hand

Tom

We have drifted away from Wiggo's point.

I think it is about time Ray was retired. I remember an article he wrote sometime ago about there not being a need for training and qualification which to me, at the time, seemed like nonsense and my view has now been endorsed by the RNLI. Read last month's RNLI mag.

He is out of date and out of touch bye bye Ray!
