HI all
Theer were 2 incidents apparently, the other one was a yacht in Port St Mary and went aground on the rocks by Gansey and was eventually towed off by the life boat. It had picked up.... yes ... you've guessed it...a rope round the prop..could it have been a pot I wonder... just so many of them all round here. they ahd to tow her back into PSM but getting her alongside the Albert pier was a bit trickyh with the wind as it was... the offshore lifeboat had to get her parrallel with the pier and the inshore pushed her onto a berth, Neat. Sorry no pics with this one....

The story belwo comes form the local newspaper.

THREE crew members were rescued in the early hours of this morning after their yacht ran aground in Port Erin bay.
Port Erin inshore lifeboat and a coastguard team from the village were called out to the assistance of the yacht.

A coastguard cliff rescue team assisted in bringing the three crew members ashore while the lifeboat stood by.

All crew members of the £25,000 yacht Windswept are safe.

Skipper Peter Mawson, his brother Brian and pal Harvey Warraner issued the mayday alert after the yacht broke its mooring at high tide and ran aground near the Cosy Nook cafe.

The lifeboat was launched but couldn't reach the crew who had scrambled onto the beach but were surrounded by water and had to be led to safety by the Coastguard cliff rescue team.

The vessel had sailed into Port Erin from Ardglass, County Down, and was due to continue to Holyhead before disaster struck.

Things do go wrong at sea.......
