These on line petitions were a stroke of genius by someone.

The proles get to feel that they've "done something" so there's less chance of them actually objecting to anything properly, and the government get to carry on regardless with less chance of any real opposition as all the proles are happy that they've "made their point officially".

Total genius.

Very cynical Ari. But probably very true. Can't imagine that anyone in govt even looks at, let alone takes any notice of, them.

If one reads the answers to these petitions, it is very clear the Government has no intention of being moved by public opinion at all, they are just more spinning window dressing to give the appearance of being concerned.

so true
its always been the same, they dont mind what happens to those below as long as their screwing all of us
When did you ever see an mp trying to get dental care on the nhs
Here in Lincolnshire there was a new dentists that said they'd take nhs !! the queue was massive
no you dont see mp's in the bread line

The way things arte going this issue re wind farms will soon come back to bite those who didn't appose it once their sited every thing changes. One site near here the locals are abandoning their homes ! imagine that, but hey no mp has to live next to them
groan no growl over

must go check my boat there's a lot of snow and if the self draining cockpit freezes up !!!!

cheers

"One site near here the locals are abandoning their homes"

Much better to have nice coal/oil/gas fired power station on the doorstep eh, ..we have three power stations within 10 miles of me and yet to hear of a single soul uppingsticks because of it, exactly where do your "locals" they think the power to heat/light/cook their homes comes from ? Some sort of Harry Potter magic spell. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

not every one wants to live in an industrial waste land, obviously you do
The tiny village of Deeping st Nicholas has been ruined by a wind farm. The only reason they want to build inland is to save money.

Its peoples attitudes like yours that encourage problems for future generations
When the new power station in Spalding was built the council brought up the houses which were next to it and demolished them, that power station is sited on an industrial estate. Yes we want to have electricity but why ruin vast area's of open countryside and turn it into industrial land
