Managed to get the wipers working at last and now require 2 x arms and blades.
Looking at varius sites and cant quite ascertain the required fitting.
The spindle looks like the old Landrover type ( Lucas?) just a rod with a flat. Cant see a makers name on the unit.
Any ideas?

I'd maybe try Landrover arms and blades - an early one like a Series 1 or 2. Also might be worth looking round various classic car websites because that design of wipers was common on a great many old cars. Maybe worth a quick internet trawl to see if any kit car suppliers stock similar ones.

If you cannot get the blades and certainly old landies had them buy a modern replacement blade rubber cut it to right length and slide it into groove after first carefully folding back the tab at end of groove.
Marine ones are readily available but tend to cost over the odds.

On my last boat (made 1986) I needed a similar wiper arm and blade. Went in virtually every Chandlers in Brittany then some in the UK, spent hours on the internet searching all to no avail. Then I took the plate off the Wiper Motor and had a "Junior Moment" the last time I saw that particular mechanism was on some lump of BMC rubbish I was selling, then it hit me, the mechanism, arm and blade was the same as a BMC Mini Metro, and went to a scrap yard and bought one. Job Done.
However one of the Chandlers who do on line have Brand New Wiper Motors at £30 ish, and I would have preferred to have fitted two of those BUT as my Wheelhouse windows are presumably "Toughened Glass" they would be difficult to drill through, but if you can fit new.

jim@sea is onto something. when trying to find replacement wipers for our boat, i got the serial number and model of the bosch wiper motor , then found compatible blades to fit. it was a a lot cheaper from the auto people than form the marine supppliers...

I also found that with my boat engine being an Iveco Diesel that apart from service parts being available from an Iveco Truck Dealer that they use the same water flow system on industrial engines and was able to buy a Jabsco impeller (In an IVECO Box) a lot cheaper.
I first had the idea of sourcing parts when in the 1960's I found that my Lotus Elan had a Back Axle from a Triumph Herald. My electric concrete mixer had a drive belt from a mini. My Caterpillar Fork Lift had a VW engine and a Caterpillar water pump was £180 and a VW Pump from Partco was £75.
Then I noticed that Marlow Ropes supplied slings to a friend who had a crane hire business and in their catalogue were the same mooring ropes 40% cheaper than I was paying at a Chandlers.
