I'm a keen sailor both dinghies and keelboats but I'm considering getting a small motorboat too that can hop around the coast and sleep two people and two dogs for overnight stops! I think I want diesel, maybe spend up to £20k and I wondered if anyone could recommend a model and any good brokers in Hampshire or nearby based on personal experience. I'm trying to narrow down the number of viewings and test drives!!!

Brilliant thank you, either of those would be good. I'm not too worried about speed so anything that can do over 12 knots will be fast compared to what I've been used to! 15-20 knots is plenty for me!!

I was looking for something similar in the last few months. I looked at a wide range of boats from Channel Island 22 to a Sessa Dorado 22. I then went for a Beneteau Antares 6 as the space onboard was fantastic, plus it meant I was in a modern boat; I like older boats but to get the boats I saw up to the standard that I like would not have been economic. I ended up with a 2007 boat with under 90 hours on the engine (shaft drive Volvo 110) for around your budget. These guys were helpful and had what seemed to be good quality stock - I did not buy from them in the end but came close to it: http://boatsandoutboards4sale.co.uk/
