If wind is coming from SW go clockwise as you can then do the north coast in one day if you do not fancy any of the stop overs vice versa if the wind is from North or NE. As ever the wind will be where you want to go.
There are stops, but not many from memory, on North side.T here are more choices on the South from Andraitx to Pollensa, although by definition these are busier, but still lovely. I think i counted two potential stops on north coast when we went, we decided to give it a miss and headed for Ibiza and Formentera then do S side of Majorca.

good luck and fair winds.

...It was like that when i found it!

How long have you got?
We chartered for a week in April and only got about a quarter way round (Palma - Porto Christo and back)

Some of the anchorages down the other side entail some pretty long day sails. Might have problems arriving late in the day looking for somewhere to park.....

The "ususal" roundtrip is counterclockwise.
The reason is - I suppose - that the south east coast has a number of nice and well protected anchorages and marinas. The north coast usually has no wind, or strong mostly northerly winds! and there is only one well protected place - Puerto Soller. There are a few creeks, but, I would not recommand them unless, the weather is calm and stable.
As you plan to be here in September, you have a good chance that the anchorages will not be overcrowded ..... just crowded!
A nice place, even a "must" in my opinion is Cabrera. Plan to spend one night, or even two there. The (minor) problem is that it is a "natural park", and you need a permission to spend the night there. If you are interested, send me a PM, and I shall send you the application form.

Feel free to contact me if you have any question.
