which watermaker?

Can anyone remember which watermaker was recommended by the ARC survey? or any suggestions for a smallish 12 volt based system?

Katadyn 80E, I have one quite good, 3 gph, 8amps @ 12 volt.

a factor that isn't often considered is the after-sales service. these are generally high-maintenance items and if you buy one somewhere you don't expect to return, you can forget any chance of repairs under warranty.

small tip - having crossed the atlantic you've a good chance it will have packed up - you can get it fixed in st maarten.
