Since electrical topics attract the most response rather than anything arcane like sailing, this seemed the best forum for expert opinions.
What's the opinion on the prebent line as opposed to flexible?
Should I opt for electric, diesel or steam propulsion?
Frequency of course is crucial - HF or VHF ? I reckon about once around the oval every 30 secs or else it will derail.
I for one am just not interested in these flashy continental HO things - made in France or Bavaria I believe. Alright for hopping from station to station but not for the longhaul in all conditions - you try one of them up Shap with the wrong kind of leaves!!

A colleague started a 5'' Asia 15 years ago. He disappeared into the shed and 5000 rivets later came out with the tender - c'est magnifique mais ce n'est pas un gare.
It's so difficult being a consumer. Sigh. Now I own a boat again all I can afford to consume are jam sandwiches. Should I go for the Harken organic fruits of the forest or will the Plastimo strawberry do for coastal trips. Oh for my gaff cutter days - bread and dripping!
And as to whether my curves are tight - you keep your hands to yourself. Cheeky monkey.

Absolutely brilliant! That has made my day. Merry Pagan midwinter festival to all our readers.

French Without Tears

by Terence Rattigan has one of my favourite lines (please excuse any missing or incorrect accents or spelling, but it would be entirely within the spirit of the play)

"Elle a des idées au dessus de sa gare"

It's not difficult, honestly

Just type;

{image}put the website link to the image here{/image}

but replace the { } brackets with square [ ] brackets.

I can't use square brackets to demonstrate, as the site will think I'm trying to post an image and the details won't show. You can't use photos on your computer. That's the same in all forums I know of. You need to put your photos on the web somewhere. If you need advice on free places to put photos, just holler

Latvia is soon to gain ...

A lot of Hornby stuff ...... over years I put together box's of stuff bought at auctions, jumble sales, out of the ads etc. I always planned to set up a garden layout ...... now I shall ship it all over to Baltic to set-up in my new place ......... hopefully working by late summer 2004.

(I can't afford boats AND the big stuff ..... but it is cetainly bootiful ........)

Re: And the winner is....

Planes, Trains and Boats - all toys for the boys. After all, as OldSaltOz puts it (to paraphrase) "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional". I have a small stack of N-gauge in the loft. One day [glancing longingly at his own anorak]....
