Which scale on a SWR meter?

Is there a switch on the meter that you can flick from SWR (or REFlected power) to just measuring power?

And maybe even a switch to calibrate (sometimes labelled SET), so that you can zero the needle first?

Andrew - I have just looked up your Zegati SWR meter on Nevada radio...

It would appear that their description (and similar descriptions on a few other websites), implies that this meter does NOT measure power.

With that in mind - I would turn the dial to the left, then briefly (on an unused channel) transmit with the switch in the SET position. Whilst transmitting, the dial can then be used to 'zero' the needle. Stop transmitting.

The switch can then be moved to the 'ROS' position and a further brief transmission used to read the SWR from the top scale.

ROS might be Italian or French for SWR - but think of it as Reflected Outgoing Signal ratio for ease..

2.5:1 a bit higher than you want but not enough to damage radio, as said above you need to do this at full power as it makes quite a difference
