Which Sanitation Hose ?

Heads have a habit of blocking.

If you buy the rubber hose with the nitrile layer and the wire then you have a chance of taking it to pieces and getting it back together. The white spiral hose and green hose just end up solid and deformed. The ends crack meaning the whole lot needs replacing. Definitely never put the white stuff below the waterline. One nick with a sharp object and ...

I had the 'smelly hose' problem after just three or four years with the bog-standard green spiral hose all chandlers stock, and replacement was always a painful struggle. Twelve years ago I refitted with Lee Sanitation's white hose, and the extra cost has been well worth it!. The boat has been in use 120 days a year on average, and the heads area is still odour-free.

You aren't confusing "green spiral" with "green stripe," are you? Tehy aren't the same. The green stripe on the Trident hose is a label, not a spiral helix.

No, Headmistress, I'm not confused: I mean exactly what I wrote. Simply answering the 'is it worth the extra cost?' doubts.

Since your comments were immediately following my recommending the Trident hose, I wondered if your comments referred to it. Apparently not.

sorry but i dont agree with this comment :

Also:
If you apply a little heat (and im not talking about so it smokes and burns) to the ends of the pipe while assembling and dismantaling you wont wreck the pipe. However be wary when aplying heat to pipes which are to go onto plastic type toilet hosetails as this can cause the plastic to become brital and break prematurely, it is best just to use a little dish washing liquid and a little patience, its also not a good idea to cram the hose clips up to much at first.
