Need advice in regard of what brand of hatch /portlights to fit.
Are any better or worse in your minds, also product back up and service life.
The old ones are Lewmar,Gebo, and have done 33 years service.
Thinking of just fitting the same newer versions again.
What are Goiot like?
Thank you all

Personally I think Lewmar are overrated. Basically a big company who've cornered the market in many things marine. Fitted a couple of Lewmar 77's on a big boat last year and was appalled at the quality and price. I'm glad I wasn't paying for them....owners spec.

I have the original Goiot hatches on my First 35. They are 30 years old and still in good condition. I've changed the Perspex because of crazing but that's all. Even the seals are still good. Thing is these early hatches were cast alloy and stable...where as today they are pressed, and bendier the bigger they get, you can't expect the same quality and stability. New Goiot? same as the rest I would say. Gebo are as good as anything on the market, and as alahol2 says the engineering is on a par with Lewmar.

I think it's one of those cases where you don't always get what you pay for. Go for the best price.
