Which is usually calmer?

The looe channel or the Outer Owers?

Went to Brighton via Looe channel last time, was a bit uncomfortable, but the weather was not the best.

Just wondering which route to take next time. (in a MOBO)

With wind against a spring tide and a good healthy F5 blowing the Looe Channel can be uncomfortable. If you're in a MOBO then it shouldn't last too long. For a MOBO going round the Owers lessens the chance of fouling your prop on one of the numerous pot markers that lurk just under the surface due to the strength of the tide.

I might try the outside next time just to see the difference. I did see quite a few pot markers last time.

As Bill says - lots of pot buoys. Gone round outside since picking one up round rudder.
