Which is better choice?

Am looking at buying a 27 yr old Hurley and have choice of two.
Assuming the two are matched in other areas,yacht one has a Petter mini diesel and yacht two a Yanmar YSE8 (it also has roller reefing genoa,yacht one hasnt)
Is yacht two worth an extra £1500

Petter Mini Twin had an Aluminium cylinder head, which is not a terribly good idea in a salt water cooled engine. The head may be corroded as hell, I don't know the Yanmar so cannot comment.

Definitely go for the Yanmar and the roller reefing. If you can afford the extra dosh you will regret it if you dont.

Bear in mind that the Yanmar is an old engine so ideally get someone in the know to run it for you and check it over.

Also what are the sails like ?? For the extra 1500 pounds you could fit a brand new roller and genoa to the boat with the petter engine.

Which Hurley are you looking at ?We have had both a 22 and a 24 in the past ,both good boats in different ways.
