Due to recent deck works, I had to cut the furuno gps aerial cable. Now faced with the job to reconnect.

Cable is coax, 5.4mm o/d with a 7 strand core (rather than solid core). No idea if it is 50 or 75 ohm

Seems there are a myriad of different types of connectors for coax, pls can someone point me to the correct connector (male/female) to buy? Connection will be simple in line, below decks

Cheers

Not exactly sure which cable they use, a normal BNC make and female would do, its receive only so no s due with impedance that matters. Sounds like RG58 with flexible centre core. Easy way to get connectors would be to find your nearest Ham radio store, they would have all connectors and take a bit of the cable and will be easy.

I bought mine online from R S Components 7 years ago stock no 136718 description: NiPt clamp TNC Plug for RG58 cable 50ohm you have to solder small centre pin so little tricky if your hands are the size of mine best buy two they were then £4 each and save on postage if you can collect from one of their outlets. There is a datasheet on their website that will give cutting dims it is extremely precise.
