I need an auto lifejacket to use for when im working on deck, usually in marinas or riverside, inc harness, considering those such as crewsaver/sigma, probably not hammer due to cost.
I have yet to find an auto only version and concerned that the manual cord/handle will easily get caught/activated whilst working, I dont know how hard they must be pulled?
Can anyone recommend a version with unobtrusive pull cord, perhaps one where it can be tucked inside? This may be possible with many but difficult to tell when buying online.

I have no hestitation recommending the Kru Sport Pro or the Spinlock Deckvest both are very comfortable to wear and well made. I would also go for an auto inflation if you can

Have a look at a Mullion Compact 150N Lifejacket, I have one and have the toggle tucked away. the L/J sits a lot higher on your chest and took a while to get used too as the weight seems to be carried more around the neck

+2 on Kru. I got a decent discount a few years ago and retro-fitted a light on each one at reasonable cost. Very comfortable, easy to put on, 175N, came with integral splash hood & harness so had everything I needed.

thanks for the info, the Kru sport is just over budget with a harness & d ring, needed for attaching to a line. I will look at the mullion, meanwhile, any experience of the Kru commodore?

Have you tried Mailspeed Marine? Just before Christmas Kru sport pro harness light sptrayhood and crotch strap £110 free delivery. So glad I bought one!

I bought a Crewsaver 275 at the SBS 2012 after taking to the guy on the RNLI stand. It was useful to try a variety of LJs as you can at a boat show because what is comfortable is a personal issue. Crewsaver is what the RNLI use which influenced our choice. The one I got had velcro strips to secure the cover which I found rather difficult to get neatly wrapped up again after my annual inspection so on balance i would go for one with a burstable zip which I think would be easier to re-pack. IMO its essential to have a built in light and spray hood (although perhaps not for the OPs intended use in a marina). The Crewsaver 275 is very neat when packed with no edges that can catch on guard rails etc. and the pull cord can be tucked out of the way if necessary. My advice would be to try several to see what suits you including un-packing and re-packing.

I have a pair of the cheaper Kru auto with harness jobs - around the £45.00 mark, I got mine from Piplers of poole who not only were the best price at the time, they rushed them to me for no extra.

The manual toggle can easily be tucked up safely, and the outer covers seem very durable, moreso than the Crewfits I also have.

I can vouch for the Kru working as advertised and doing it very well, as I was stupid enough to go MOB !
