Which adhesive?

I removed the headboards from my boat last year to get them re-upholstered. They were a right bu@#er to remove due to lots of adhesive/sealant used. Thankfully, I’ll soon be allowed to visit my boat again so I’ll be able to re-fit them. Can anyone recommend an adhesive I should use to re-fit them?

Just to add, I think the adhesive used to fix them was expandable.
