one fender is soggy and others going that way. tried using my electric tender pump with the cone shaped adapter(s). These fitted the hole but wouldn't inflate. perhaps the cone didn't penetrate far enough to open the 'valve'. Are all these fender valves different or is there a standard adapter fitting?

Most of our standard tubular fenders seem to want a long, thin metal tube that you push into the valve and right through into the body of the fender. Doesn't seem to fit the step fender which is getting rather soggy.

What make of fender?

Cant remember that particular one as I have a mish mash of fender makes and sizes. There is a cone shaped hole but I cant see what is at the bottom of it. My tender adapters include some with cone which has a sort of prong at the pointy end. I guessed that the prong would open a flap while the cone sealed the hole, but no joy with the 2 cone adapters I had on board.
Yes I have some of the ones with the small hole which do look as if they need the 'football' type adapter.
Cheers all

Most of the one-way valves will accept high-pressure air from a compressor hose held up against the opening, it tends to push the valve open just from the pressure and allow the fill without fiddling with adaptors.

Do that on the maconi (?) fenders and you ruin the valve.
To OP,check which manufacturer you have and google it ;)

Force Four carry a range of adaptors for this purpose.

I wasted more time trying to avoid the purchase than I care to think!

Marjoni needs a dedicated adaptor.

Tony.
