Where\'s TheBoatman when you need him?

Spent all last weekend rubbing down the hull and stripping / refitting bits on a friend's boat in the freezing cold down at a local yacht club. Had TheBoatman been there he would have immediately recognised I was not a member of said club and been duty bound to report me as such and have me turfed off.

Where were you when I needed you Peter????

Colin
I was laying on my sick bed. I didn't want to annouce it to the rest of the b****rs here but I have had one hell of a week (10 days). It reads like a horror story.
Thursday 10th.(am)
I go to bank to pay in much earned ackers, whilst there, lorry backs into front wing of car and p***s off without stopping.
(pm) I have to go to hospital to have hernia fixed, so contact insurance company to arrange for car to be collected.
Friday (am).
On operating table completly out of it? General anisthetic etc.
(pm).
Come too in dreadful pain, wife collects me because NHS kick me out, struggle home feeling like death warmed up and collapse on bed.
Monday (am) car is collected, I can bearly stand up! Nether regions are black and blue and I'm having to withstand all the jokes beginning with "black balled" etc. You know all the jokes about nuts in vice ect well it WAS like that.
Weds (am) Sister-in-law phones to say that B-in-law has died that morning!
Thursady (am) I contact insurance co who advise me that I cannot drive for 14 days after general ani etc.
Car is overdue service by 1500 miles so make arragments for them to service it Tuesday (this week).
Customers are constantly on the phone asking me to supply spares and quotes for new machines.
Wife disappears to sisters place for w/end and I'm left fending for myself.
I have to go to Nottingham today for the funeral and won't be back until late Thursday nite.
SO FORGIVE ME IF RUBBING DOWN YOUR BOTTOM DOESN'T APPEAR ON MY TOP 10 LIST OF PRIORITIES<S>.

Peter.

PS
See you soon /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyone offering sympathy will immediadly go to the top of my Xmas card list?

If you have just had your hernia repaired, you will have to be careful rubbing down peoples bottoms from now on!
Could I suggest starting a consultancy? Charge heavily for your advice, knowledge and experience; then get others to jump about under boats doing the work. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bloody Hell, wish I hadn't asked!

Apart from the old crown jewels, not too disimilar to my life lately. Car's been hit 3 times in almost as many weeks. Away being fixed at the moment. MOT has run out and it would not pass with the damage and it needs a service badly. Garden wall was demolished completely by a low flying hatchback a couple of weeks back. Lost an Uncle yesterday morning - he had a bloody good innings though! Only good news lately is that my house which has been on the market for 11 months has finally got a sold sign up outside.

Hope you feel better soon mate. I'll probably be down the club this weekend applying fresh anti-foul so I'll look out for you and your wheelbarrow.
