BTW something I always wanted to know but never dared to ask: what's "avatar" for a word? Does it mean anything? Is it English? Or just some computer geek gizmo word?
I never have avatars visable when I am logged in (except your hammer and nail, Cliff). If I am not logged in though they are all visable down the left hand side.

Bet you're using Firefox! Same's valid here, not logged on, the piccies are visible. Also in IE.... but don't like to use that option....
Probably a stupid question, but do you have your display preferences set to "View other user's pictures in their profile and user list?". If you haven't, that might explain why you can see avatars when you aren't logged on, but they disappear when you become Beagle.
This would be the behaviour I would expect with any web browser .. until you've logged in, it doesn't know you don't want to see the pictures. By default I would assume the pictures are displayed to make the site pretty.
2p.
Regards, Jeff.
Finally got my picture back .. but you can't see it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Stupid questions are always the best!...... Thanks for the tip, now I know what was different. I'll be sitting in the corner with the donkey hat on..... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I just run XP over broadband. I have a link to the YBM page on my desktop (thats sad is'nt it?) If I want to find anything Google is my home page, sorry am I missing something?
Cliff can't you get the nail to pop up a bit more randomly?
You can imagine a computer like a sailboat. The hardware (box and what's inside it) is the hull. The Operative System (XP in your case) is the standing rigging and all the programs you are using is the running rigging and the sails. You cannot surf the internet wit XP alone, you need a program for every specific task. Standard program for surfing the web on an XP computer is Internet Explorer. Instead you can use Firefox. It's like changing sails from the cruising kit to custom designed racing sails. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Depends on the rigging (MacOS or Windows), but I won't tell which one is fore-and-aft and which one is the square rigger....because that could ignite a sea battle...
