Where\'s my MBM?

According to last months issue, the February MBM should have been out last Thursday but I still haven't received it - I have not renewed my subscription yet but I still have two issues to go.

Has anyone else got theirs yet?

Ah, but all IPC mags have their circulation audited. Although this results in accurate counting of the number of readers, it goes deeper- as any true audit - and actually checks out a representative sample of readers. Obviously there'll be some readers who can't wait to get their mag, and some others also keen - but merely cos they paid, not cos the y like the mag that much. There'll be some who use the mag for lighting campfires insteading of hoarding them - but worst of all are those who LET OTHERS READ THEIR MAG. This of course reduces the potential circulation. So in order to stem the tide of skinflints lending their mags around, these people get their copies sent out late - usually just late enough so they're tempted to buy a copy from WH smiths - only to arrive home and find the copy on the mat, dammit.

It's fairly clear that any auditor would count you has having a loaned the mag around, and hence marked in the database as L for Late delivery - hence no mag. Or a late mag at any rate. Also, i thinnk you carped about it as well, a while back, hence even worse.

Now you know very well there is absolutely no chance of me buying another copy! - I've already paid for one.

I'll just do what I used to do and have several visits to WH Smug to browse the copy. No-one buys it anyway so I could usually just bend down the corner of the page I leave it on and go back the following week, pick up the copy and carry on where I left off.

If I come across anything I want to keep for reference I'll just wait a month or two and post a plaintive plea on here asking if anyone has a copy of the previous months magazine as there is something in it that I really need but SWMBO has thrown away my copy. Some sucke....oops I mean friendly forumite will say "don't worry I've got a copy and if you PM me your fax number I'll send it you". I reckon over a period of time you could build up the full catalogue by this method (OK so it will all be in black and white and a bit skewed on the page but I'll have saved £3.50 - I don't even pay for the fax!)

Hum, i think it's for this sort of reason that the Yorkshire Post sells ten copies a day - and it's only the libraries buying them..

Haven't got a Jan issue to hand, perhaps there was a mistake in that but the mag is not due on sale until this coming Thursday.

Subscribers are always the poor relations. Doubtless they've been throwing them like confetti at LIBS to entice new punters so there's none left for us

It was noted in a post last week, that someone from IPC mentioned the new MBM would be on sale from LAST thursday, So i rushed home to look at mine, and guess what it wasnae there, So on the Friday i went in to WHSmiths, and it wasnae there either. Since then Everyday i've been into WHSmiths to see if they've got it before me, And if they have today, mine had better arrive today!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

That was a mistake in the Jan issue and the web content was probably taken from the same source. Not an excuse, just an explanation. MBM's on sale date is the third Thursday of the month so that will be tomorrow.
