Where will you pick if you move to the Mediterranean Sea?

Potentially, I might move to the Mediterranean Sea area in the near future. Now I am thinking about which area to pick. For boating, will you prefer move to Spain or Greece? Which cities will you recommend? Thanks.

I think you need to tell us what type of sailing you are looking to do. Most cruisers try to avoid cities but if that is your choice then the western Med might suit you. If you want relatively uncrowded island cruising then Aegean Greece or Croatia might be better for you.

Far too many choices and personal preferences. Basics such as are you going to live aboard or cruise around, short trips or long stay, type of boat, preferred lifestyle and so on. The two areas you mention offer very different environments and appeal to different people.

Boating thinking just for weekends and holidays as I still have a young kid need to take care of. A mainland city or town may be better for me. Any input is welcome. Thanks

Spain is probably better as plenty of marinas, most fairly close to airports with cheap flights from UK. Expensive berthing though, not too different from UK.

I have not sailed the Spanish coast south of Barcelona but I have visited a lot of it. It seems to be a lot less cruising-friendly than other countries, mostly up and down with few islands.
You might find the south of France more attractive if not choosing Greece.
