Not out in the Solent, or in Hamble, or in Cowes......

Could it be that a) it was fathers day, and so lots of family activities at home (or elsewhere ) and b) lots of peeps will be taking part in/watching the RTI race next weekend, that everyone stayed away today. Cowes High Street had hardly any peeps in it at 14:: to 15:00 today........it was really nice!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well I was in Cowes!

Was very quiet though, think everyone was out last week and couldn't be bothered this week with the weather looking dodgy.

Her in-doors made me put the new shed up today because I took her out racing in the Solent yesterday. I hadn't realised how much she had hated it. Never mind there is always next weekend...or the next...or the next....or the.........zzzzzzzzzz

Spent the weekend in Yarmouth which was quiet Friday night, busy Saturday night and empty Sunday! I think the forcast put people off even though we only had rain overnight Saturday after we had spent the evening having a BBQ on the beach!!

I just couldn't believe how quiet it was. Were you in Yacht Haven? We had no trouble getting in and there seemed to be loads of empty spaces in the North Basin. We were allocated a space in the Southern basin on S pontoon - very convenient!

Hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

spot the missing bit?

sometimes you can use a little carefull attention with a hammer to repair a prop, sometimes it can be rebuilt by the pros...........and then sometimes you need a new one

all at about 6/7 knots in Poole Harbour on a route I traverse over and over again - this is what set back the passage plans with Geoffs; but as he was sitting off Brownsea waiting, and the weather so good, I pulled out the stops to temporarily resolve for the weekend..........

The big issue here (appart from my UW excess!) appears to be that welding the casing is out without removing the bearing carrier seals etc and then rebuilding which will cost as much as a lower end (expensive). Props weren't cheap either!

Let's see how Mardon / Sun Alliance respond..........I will keep people up to date! It's exactly the sort of damage that can happen to anyone - and you don't want lengthy arguments on the cheapest solution at this time of the year!

Yes we were in Yacht Haven, North Basin. Couldn't get into Sheppards despite turing up early on Saturday, presume they must have had a rally. Yacht Haven were also full later on so it wasn't that quiet. By the time I got up on Sunday everyone had gone!

Ah, I remember the slight hitch in your channel crossing plan.. Looks nasty. I hope your insurers get it sorted ASAP!

Cheers,
Rick
