Saturday started wet, but cleared up quite soon, leaving a lovely sailing day. We sailed up to Pyefleet from the Crouch and saw just 2 other boats sailing, both with spinakers, plus maybe 4 motorboats and one gaffer anchored, presumably fishing.
From Pyefleet (where, of course, we were the only anchored boat) we could see some very good fireworks displays at Brightlingsea, St Osyth and on Mersea.
On Sunday, we saw no other sailing boats at all until we got into Burnham, when they were just getting ready for a race - and that was an even better sailing day!
Did no one else venture out?
