We had a interesting experience in a race on Saturday on the Huon
We were heading down the river with the kite up and the three leading boats had already rounded the mark and were coming back up the river also with kites up with
When we were about a boat length away from them all of the spinnakers collapsed as we entered the area wher both breezes met
Not often you see boats heading towards each other with kites up

Surprisingly frequent in the western Solent as an easterly wind meets a sea breeze building in from the south west.

Happens a few times a year in Dublin Bay - mainly to do with the wind coming around the Wicklow Mountains from either side.

It happens from time to time every where Menai Straights and Scotland come to mind.

Although in Greece a couple of years ago a sailing couple who had circumnavigated told us in no uncertain terms it only happens in Greece. Since then any funny winds I we must be in Greece
