I've decided to sell my 34 Feeling 346 in order to buy a bigger boat.
Anyone got any positive or negative experiences to share wrt selling in Greece?

Good brokers/Bad brokers ?
Good locations/bad locations ?

I realise that easy viewing flights are an important consideration which is steering me towards moving her to Corfu. (I would have gone to Lefkas/Preveza if the Athens flights hadn't been scrapped.) I think that my main problem is that the boat is currently on the other side of the Aegean in Leros. At the price I'm thinking of I think the boat will appeal as a starter boat so I dont think people will take a 2 day trip to Leros to view her so Im resigned to moving her so any feedback appreciated.

Think you will probably struggle to sell it anywhere as the market is both dead and stuffed with plenty of boats for sale. The market is obviously mostly non-Greek so you need to be able to get your boat in front of people across Europe.

Although Corfu looks attractive, it is actually not a very active place for boat sales. You are probably better off in Levkas/Preveza area. The two active brokers are Greg Boats, based in Athens but lists all over and Williams and Smithell in Levkas.

agree with Tranona re the market but I have just sold a 38 footer (mobo too - even harder to sell) from Gouvia. Pinnacle yacht sales were the brokers and did an excellent job. also had her on the books with Ancasta who didn't turn up a single enquiry, whereas Colin from Pinnacle did quite a few viewings and drove through a good price with a very finickity Dutch buyer. Absolutely recommend.

Thx Tranona - I have been in contact with Gregs and W&S. Thx Bluegrass - I had wondered about Pinacle I may yet go to Gouvia in which case I'll have a word with them.

Market in greece.

I know several boats that have been bought and sold in Lefkas over the last few months. I don't think the market is dead here. But of course W&S or Ionian Boat Assist, both of whom broker boats here, would be able to give you more specific information.

Another vote for Pinnacle

I can completly recommend Colin & Sue of Pinnacle Yachts.
I've know them for over ten years now, and they are trustworthy, reliable and honest.

Youn wont do better.

Regards.

I can only gıve you some advıce from a buyers perspectıve, havıng just used the servıces of most of these brokers over the last few months!

Sadley W&S Lefkas offıce were the worst of the bunch, faılıng to return answers and responses on a regular basıs. I dıd get a far better response from theır UK offıces, but ıt shouldn't requıre one offıce to 'kıck' the other to get a response for a customer wıth cash ın hıs pocket!

Gregs have been 'dıffıcult' to get a response from at tımes, and the downsıde as a buyer, ıs hıs webıte only supports one photo of any boat! The browsıng buyer wıll not look much further!

IBA & Pınnacle were great, responsıve and ınformatıve. As a buyer, made you wısh they had more boats to vıew! Actually bought through sunbırd ın the end!

Thx Satsuma - very helpful. I know what you are saying re Gregs. As a buyer also I am "turned off" by their web site. To be fair both Gregs and W&S have been quick to respond to my initial enquiries; Mark from W&S emailed me from Athens airport on route back to the UK but Im no nearer a decision re location. Greg thinks Leros is OK, W&S say Lefkas is the place to be and Ive only heard good things about Pinacle in Gouvia

+1. Sold my last boat through Pinnacle for a good price. Colin and Sue were superb and kept both me and the buyer happy through out. They seem to have a lot of potential buyers on their books, Can't recommend them enough.

I must admit that we had bad experiences when trying to buy a boat from W&S. They were not completely honest with the situation, we didn't bother buying from them and found a better boat elsewhere.

compared to other brokers I have dealt with in the past their attention to guiding the deal through is second to none. I was back in the UK during most of the sales process and they organised sea trials, extended viewings, fixing up minor faults to keep the buyer happy etc etc
They also have very reasonable rates, an excellent website, and keep you very well informed at all times.

OK Pinnacle it is then

No negative comments posted re Pinacle so looks like its worth the extra 70 miles or so upto Gouvia from Lefkas. Thats the end of season cruise sorted then.
Thanks for all comments - much appreciated.
