Here is the dilemma I have - can I have some suggestions from the experts here please??

I have a Fairline Weekender 21 on a trailer.

It's too big to tow every time I want to use it (although I can tow it every now and then) so I want to store it by the coast.

I want to put her up for sale this year and will need a decent broker - however I am realistic that this year will be super-tough to sell a boat so I realise it may not sell.

Therefore I want to USE the boat whilst it's up for sale, and many brokers don't seem to offer that.

So my requirements are:-

Must be within an hours drive from Sparkford in Somerset (near Yeovil) so I am looking in the Weymouth / West Bay kind of area.

I would prefer to dry-stack or keep on a trailer in a yard and launch when it's wanted - however I am prepared to keep it on a swinging mooring as I want to keep the cost down.

Ideally the broker will offer free/discounted storage while it's up for sale - however I would only wnt that IF they were a good broker - my current broker offers it, but as they are rubbish it's not much help to me!!!!

So any ideas??

I have been to see Blue Water Horizons in Weymouth who offer park and launch for just over £1000 for 6 months or £400 ish for a swinging mooring in a lake which is directly linked to the sea so no access problems. They will also put it on their brokerage for 7% of the sale proceeds.

Anyone know anywhere else I should consider?

Thanks

Watchet Marina is 65 mins away. They are keen to expand their brokerage, and it's only 55 mins away from Bristol where there must be a large population hungry for that type of boat.

Or check with Damo (forumite) about Portishead.

Cobbs Quay dry stack is full I hear, given the council there put the other dry stack out of business because they were sitting where they wanted to put the second bridge, now they've delayed that. Anyway, it's full with 9 boats in a queue was what I had heard (luckily I renewed) but check with the Marina office to be sure.

Cobbs is a nice place - and about an hr - however as mentioned, it looks like the dry stacks are full.

Weston, Portishead etc isn't the nicest boating spot and I think the boat has a better chance of selling on the south coast.

I think Weymouth is looking like my best bet unless someone knows anywhere else?
