I have a favorite wooden whisker pole that I've carried from boat to boat. With small boats it's not the easiest thing to keep. Too big for down below, awkward on stanchion rail and narrows the side deck . It's not longer than the boom and I saw a suggestion to keep it in the stak pak, or I thought of lashing to the boom as I have a loose fitted main.

In thoughts or experiences ?

505 or dragon or FF15 style.

A hoop attached towards the aft end of boom. It just sits in the hoop.

A u-bolt or strop to clip on the front end not too far from the gooseneck

A sailtie or buggy to stop it rattling
