Hi!

I've being reading the forums for quite some time here so I finally decided to register and join in so please be gentle with me on my first question /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm looking to buy a trailing log from somewhere however, it appears as though nobody is selling them anymore brand new. Are there no trailing logs being manufactured anymore?

Does anyone know where I can buy one from?

Welcome to the forums. Trailing logs turn up on ebay fairly frequently. Suggest you do a search for trailing log and when it comes up with nothing, get them to save the search and email results, then when one turns up, you will be informed.

Thanks for the info, didn't think of the ebay search notification as for those on sale at boats and outboards I'll give them a try.

Anyone know where I can get them new? (If they are still available)

If you are specifically wanting a Walker trailing log do a search on Ebay for 'Walker log' as the word 'trailing' isn't always used and you have to input words that are actually used by the advertiser. Walker logs sold on Ebay from UK are invariably in 'used condition' though because of the design that is not a problem. If you are determined to have a new one they come up quite often in the USA. They usually go for cheaper prices than here in Europe though you would have to pay international carriage. Make sure you check that the mounting shoes are included as they are hard to find. Lillie & Ghillie have some stb'd ones only at the last check.

Hi

I am interested too... my through hull transducer never seems to work.. it works on land if you spin the impellor but not when back in the water! Maybe turbulence or something.

When looking at the speedtech site there is a UK dealer listed but some US sites have same listed for $110 rather than $150 - (search on google) I didnt investigate P&P though..

OF NOTE: on the speedtech site there are manuals and the knotmaster needs a fin to be fitted to the bottom of the hull which the inpellor attaches to.. this probably isnt practical for yachts as even if we attached it to the trailing edge of transom for most people it would be awkward to attach/ unattach and if one was to drop it... mmmnnn a few choice words may be said!
