Where to keep a rib on a trailer west coastof scotland?

Between Oban and FW you have the obvious Dunstaffnage marina or the new one at Corpach, otherwise you could look at Lochaber YC in FW or the Glencoe Boat Club as possibilities. Another is the Loch Nell boatyard.

Immediately south of Oban you have Ardoran Marine, then going North you have Dunstaffinage, Lochnell, Crerean Marine and Linnhe marina, Glencoe boat club and the new Corpach marina.

All I think have slips and boat storage (not sure about storage at Corpach as not visited yet)

I suspect Linnhe marine & Lochnell will be the most cost effective options.

Avoid the big marinas if budget is a factor perhaps. Where you plan to venture to, would have a bearing as mentioned. Dumbarton might be a sensible option, should she be frugal on fuel and have a good range.

Assuming petrol, given the appeal of refuelling from jerry cans will pall very quickly storage as close to Oban or Fort William seems optimal.

Not with speed restrictions on river and repetitive start and finish
Largs would be good option for Clyde
further north is less populated and starts debates on just where

There is a blanket 12kt limit inside the Cloch and a 5kt limit by operational docks and quaysides as per the leisure craft guide. The former is mostly ignored but breaking the latter is likely to attract attention. Given the OP why even suggest Dumbarton?

I wouldn't bother with marinas unless the OP particularly likes the location; there are public slipways here and there and slipways elsewhere for a fee, storage for the craft on a trailer could be in a farmyard as long as it's not too far from the slip and a filling station. The slip at Puffin Diving just south of Oban is easy to use and there is parking available.

Have a close read at the wording on that. That’s all I’d suggest. Often miss understood, I’m afraid.

Why suggest anywhere on the west coast then ? Avoiding enormous marina storage costs, would be the reason.

Yeah…think I might have mentioned earlier about since Reading that he was preferring somewhere further north. Hindsight is a wonderful thing for the cheekiest amongst us perhaps. My point earlier before knowing this, was likely based around convenience of access, cheaper storage than the usual bank breaking marinas and perhaps more sheltered cruising, being an option additionally.
I get your comment about the speed limit, but it’s a bylaw by any means, more an advisory or suggestion at best perhaps. Probably a kin, to me suggesting a speed limit of 10 mph for cars driving past my house…I have no way of enforcing it though. Anyway. The sensible amongst us, keep things civil and considerate, in terms of speed.
Storage available may be few and far between in some popular areas, as you and most will know..I suppose travel logistics come into it too. Best of luck to the fella either way and all the best to yourself 👌

My Rib is at largs Marina, with a package that they handle the launch and recovery, along with storage. It might be a bit more money, but it's a great location for getting out to explore from, they have Petrol on tap, and the convenience is pretty huge.

Just a consideration.
