Where to get a replacement stud?

Does anyone know of a source for a replacement stud, for a dinghy oar? This is the sprung stud that locks the two sections of oars together. I have the spring, but the stud popped out, did a triple somersault and disappeared into the sea. Thanks, David.

Tent poles often used on the larger frame tents often use these. Might be worth trying a camping shop.

If you manage to find one, before fitting it examine the hole in the oar. These become enlarged after a while due to galvanic corrosion between the stainless stud and aluminium oar, allowing the stud to fall through. I made a few washers from polythene to overcome oversized holes in mine.

Vyv - Yes, that is exactly why it fell out. The circular hole has become ragged due to corrosion, which allowed it to pop out. Thanks for the tip about a non-metalic washer behind. David.

That was obviously a Tom Daley Stud if it did a triple.

Just before it went underwater, I bet it waved at you and mouthed the words "you can't catch me".

Provided the size is correct, which they do not state, that is a better design than mine, and presumably the OP's, as the button is captured and cannot fly out. Unfortunately no more triple somersaults, though.

Thanks all for the input. I ended up making one, using an old 8mm st. st. bolt. And glued the spring into the hole to (hopefully) prevent it being lost again. David.
