At least I think that's what I'd call them...
My Autohelm ST4000 wheelpilot (1994-now discontinued) broke over the weekend. After pulling it apart I have discovered that the clutch lever pivots on a SS shaft (dia about 3mm) which in turn is snugly inserted into an belt tensioning cam. There are (were /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) 2 securing sheer pins that prevent the shaft from rotating in the cam. They're only about 1.3mm dia. They appear to have been in the form of a split tube (presumably to provide some diametric expansion to ensure a snug fit). Google as I might, I can't find anything like them - I'm probably googling for the wrong thing. I guess a tiny piece of solid rod (S/S ?) might fit but I can't find anything down to that diameter either.
The while thing sits inside a smooth bronze bush and so must be totally flush .
Nothing on the autohelm site and the dealers I spoke to only want to sell me a new wheelhelm...!
Is there and proper name for these things? And does anyone know where I can source two?
TIA, Mark
