In a recent thread, someone was raving about the protective qualities of lancote.

Does anyone know where to get it in the UK?

Or can I just nick Joscelyn's handcream?

No idea of "Lanocote" sources - but asking this from UK? This is lanolin, wool fat. Guess the UK as such is the source :)
Lanolin is water emulsifier, handcream may do but it'll be mostly water in emulsion.
You are looking for "Anhydrous lanolin" - dry. This works as water repellent.

As for brand name special mixture - these guys I love: "long term protection for rigging screws and shackles etc - and stops sheep getting wet!" ;) http://www.flints.co.uk/acatalog/Marine_Lanoguard.html

Thanks....your edit gives me an answer.

Sounds similar in what it does to the 'magical' ACF-50 corrosion block which is also good for your electrics.

I have been using the ACF-50 spray for electrics and to kill rust on clients cars for the past 3 years - damn good stuff. I have used it on the boat as well of course to protect the electrics and chrome from rusting etc!
