IMHO Outboards Direct in Brighton.
I would recommend a Yamaha 4 stroke.
I bought mine from them - best price I found in the UK, arrived within a couple of days. Good advice. They move a lot of outboards.
I bought the Yamaha on their recommendation.
It is quiet - as outboards go. Started 2nd time first time we tried it out (after laying in the bottom of my boat for several months and after doing a bumpy 2000 mile trip from the UK down to the S of France).
Always starts first time (if the fuel is turned on).
I have just had a quote for a Suzuki DF2 2.5 hp 4 stroke of 850 euros ! "special discount " usually 1000 euros . but then I am in Greece , UK price best is £359 . this will be my engine of choice as it only weighs 3 kilos more than my old 2stroke BF2 hp Yamaha, at 13 kg . Weight is really crucial when handing an outboard around . also agree with csail , about the Honda ,air cooled and noisy !
I'd still try to find a 2-stroke. Tohatsu's were still available in the UK "new old stock" at the end of last season and in Channel Islands (unaffected by EU rules). Simple is best IMO.
