SWMBO visited the Thames in 1953 on her Uncle's converted ship's lifeboat Jerusiah. (Visible in the background) She would love to know where this photo of her and her brother was taken.
Does anyone recognise the bridge?
TIA

Is it still called the Packhorse? Trying to find it on Google the only Hotel near the railway bridge is the Mercure.

I went to school in Egham and the school boat club had a club house next to the bridge and we launched from the bank where Staines Boat Club shows on Google maps.

They were getting ready to feed the swans, note small bag each is holding. Another photo shows them in action. Any idea what building has/had the interesting looking wall and steps on the opposite bank?

that is the back of the old town hall. looks pretty similar today,or it did when i moved to Burnham on Crouch from Laleham 6-7 years ago.
there are new moorings along there now. Just up river from where the photo was taken is the Swan hotel still much unchanged from then.

Thanks. She is wishing we found this out before our recent very enjoyable Thames trip. We could then have tried to find the exact photo site!
