Several hundred miles out, I'm afraid.Grimsby.
Gourdon? or possibly Johnshaven?
If it is Gourdon, I seem to recall that there is a rock bang on the leading line, so best not to pick it up until you are quite close to the harbour.
Well it is gala day and it is murky, so I guess it could be anywhere on the Scottish East coast.
I think it's the upper leading light at the back of Torry for Aberdeen Harbour.
It's certainly the upper leading light for somewhere, but not Aberdeen. Somewhere much nicer, and not so very far away. (from Aberdeen that is.)I think it's the upper leading light at the back of Torry for Aberdeen Harbour.

'Not so very far away' in this context was in comparison to previous guesses involving places like Grimsby or places where they speak Breton. You could certainly make it here from Aberdeen in a day and a night if you had the right winds and most importantly you get the tides right. There are a limited number of options "not very far from Aberdeen". Off the top of my head, and I am fairly confident it is not Arbroath, you have Auchmithy (nope), Montrose, Gourdon, Johnshaven, Catterline, Stonehaven, Cove, Collieston, Port Errol, Boddam, Peterheed, Fraserburgh. If it is on that list, suspect it must be Boddam.
