Resolution too fuzzy where I am moored now, but I appear to be virtually parked in the berth where I was 3 years ago at 52° 3'7.86"N 1° 9'44.86"E - now occupied by NAS I think... aeriel shot looks to be of that period before the 'regeneration' got underway in Ipswich docks that covered me in muck & dust...

WHen i first showed Google Earth to SWMBO, we found her parents house in Bermuda - she then went to pick up the phone to get mother out into the garden so we could see her on the screen !

I managed to stop her before it cost me an international phone call !! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If I moored mine on the other side of the river you would be able to see it, but my side of the river is really blurred

Whoopee! Google earth now available on Macintosh as of Tuesday last.
Now where's that boat? Oh thats right I am still 'between boats',sadly...But thats wot new years resolutions are all about right..
Anyone successfully tried using Google earth to check out moorings availability?

Not real time........

Hi all. My boat is actually there at the top of Fareham Creek but it shows the pictures can be out of date by quite a while as teh newish pontoons are not shown (2 years ago). Fareham Creek is at least a year old where Portsmouth harbour is quite recent as the spinnaker tower is there and painted white!

Re: Nice to see the old place

Impressed with the tracking. How did you arrange that?

Correct. According to GE my boat is still in my back garden. 50deg 47'58.66N 1 deg 11' 56.52 W It was in fact launched in 2002

Yup.... thats the right location, and your boat... not mine.... still not any easier to get into and out of though!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sadly, it also appears that they have knocked down the brand new flats and the marina toilet block since I was last there...... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Poole Yacht haven Stolen!!!

Tried to find my boat in Poole Harbour (it's moored by the starting platform opposite Baiter Park) but then had a look at the quay and noticed something missing. The photo was taken obviously a few years ago because there is no haven on the quay and Poole Pottery is still there! I wish the photos were dated.

Is anyone still reading this thread?!!

Re: Poole Yacht haven Stolen!!!

I think Google Earth does a fantastic job considering the area it covers. My house and the top of my creek are a bit fuzzy and 5 years old but 100 yards down the harbour by Mudeford SC it has been updated in the last week or so with much more recent pics. The new-old join isn't up to their usual standard though and there's a bit missing!
