Tobermory in 2010. Some of the houses in Phil's (rather better ) photo can be matched up. This one was taken on a phone camera from the new cafe on the upper level of the steamer pier. I am trying to work out where Phil's was taken but cannot find a similar view in my files.

Aye Ken, just checked my 2011 pics and its definately a reversed image taken from the slipway at the village end of the steamer pier. Well done!

It's from the CalMac ferry pier by the look of it. The little man on Google Maps won't walk out far enough to get the perfect perspective but the stone pier and the distillery are there.

Found this pic which confirms the buildings The blue and red houses were white when my dad took the original.

Bit of the usual fred drift but the fish cafe upstairs just behind the photographers back (present day) is superb, they'd just won some award or other when we went last autumn. The opportunity to drink far too much is high & the food is quite delightful so long as you enjoy seafood at its very best.
