Where I got the boating bug

I always wondered... the attached shows how happy I was on dry land albeit in a boat. Just found this in some family pics - the corners are sellotape from my dad. Bless

Someone could guess the boat if they wish but it's more about how we got the bug. What was your experience?

PS. it's cost me a shed load in skiing holidays as well

It's all my stepdad's fault. The moment I got out of the car at Rockley Sands, aged ten, smelled the sea air, heard the noise of rigging slapping against masts, I was hooked. He didn't approve of my passion for mobos, though!

got me thinking; that must be fun to be there on that boat,

When we were planning our honeymoon a couple of years ago, my Husband suggested, that as we were getting married in Scotland, that we could hire a cabin cruiser and pootle up the Caledonian Canal.
It rained every day except the last day, and we loved it.
Didn't think we could ever afford our own boat, but we found that we could
Couldn't imagine life without a boat now, even my elderly cat enjoys it now!
