Filling the water tank before Christmas, I pulled out the blue plastic centre twisty bung thing in the deck fitting, it jumped out of my hand and into the marina, where it sank. No one seems to sell replacements (apart from a £16 new fitting which seems like overkill). Anyone know where to get one or have a spare one?

Does it have a hex socket that fits a winch handle? Aladdins Cave stock them.

We lost one the same way, they should have a retaining chain, but a cork tied on at least makes it float!

Force 4 quote a cap product number here

You must be able to get one because I have a spare (no you can't /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

Mine aren't attached by a chain either. I used a 6" end off a round pole and cut it square so that it fits the cap tightly and when I take the cap off it stays on there rather than going for a swim. I always thought a winch handle was OTT.

We use a 3 inch plastic hex 'winch handle', but that does not float either!

While you are buying get a few rubber seals, the seals on the diesel filler perish rapidly.

If it is a Plastimo filler you can get spare caps for just over £6 each. See pages 334/5 of their catalogue. There are several different types but pictures should help you identify
