Hi,

Can anyone give me any pointers as to where I can buy some threaded inserts similar to these but made in A4 stainless ? Size of internal threads to be 3 or 4mm.

I want to fit them into the batons into which my headlinings are fixed because the screw threads have predictably stripped and I want a proper solution (so am not considering tricke with superglue, epoxy, cocktail sticks etc). Flanged or non-flanged should both work fine, and other types could be considered if anyone knows any, but note that they have to be insertable from the open side as my batons are glued on so eg wondow interscrews won't work.

Many thanks,

Boo2

Inserts are probably overkill for this application, and A4 is definitely OTT. If the battens are wood and the holes are now too large for the screws consider boring and plugging with a hardwood plug and using new screws. If you pilot bore for the new screws and then use a bit of candle wax on the threads the screws should come in and out without damaging the new hole.

Just a suggestion!

I have been using a UK supplier which goes by the name of Fastening Solutions UK (http://www.fasteningsolutionsuk.com/).
I have worked with them for a while now, they offer fantastic shipping for bulk orders, next day delivery infact!

They have exactly what you are looking for - A4 stainless.
