Hmm getting hold of a heat gun is going to be difficult,might have to leave this one to the professionals if that is the case

worse comes to worst, you could also try a 2KW hair dryer, with no attachments and keep it 5cm from the metal thing. you may have to patient though

There are two Leroy Merlins within 15 minutes of Palma airport where you can get a heat gun (decapadora) for around €25.

Yeah ,there's one near the marina too, I'll also need a power adapter in order to plug the heat gun into the marina power supply, which I'm sure I could find somewhere, its not beyond the wit of man ( IE me ) to get something sorted out,but it starting to look like hassle,cost and time that might be better spent just getting someone else to sort this one out .

Especially as it looks like it could be very easy for me to damage something else in the process.
