Hi

We have a 13.50 metre steel yacht, which we bought in June of last year and want to replace the mooring lines.

We are looking at a drum of 24mm or 28mm, braided, multiplait or poss 3 strand polyester. The only problem is that most sites/ ads only cater for ropes/lines upto 12/16mm.

We emailed Marlow the other day but due to their problems have not replied yet.

Apart from following the QE2 or QM2 and waiting for a bit to fall off, we are open to suggestions.

I would imagine that you will get whatever size you require from Gale Force in Inverness as they supply fishing boats ans moorings for all size of craft

As already mentioned try www.gaelforce.net
I have dealt with them on several occasions and found them to be excellent.
Their website isn't brilliant as to sizes/dimensions to price so if in doubt give then a call as they are very helpful.

If you are willing to buy a whole drum of rope, I am surprised that you cant be supplied by every swindlery in the country. If it was a part drum, I would understand their reluctance.

Last time I checked, Liros were quite happy to supply direct
