Where are they now?

Happy New Year all. Now its a new year, 2 people I wondered what had happened to them. "Headmistress" gave a lot of good advice over a number of years and Derek Bowskill Wwho wrote many good boating guide books over the years.Last I heard, about 8yrs ago ,was that he was wintering in the south of France on his boat called "Valcon".

I know i`am a foreigner and infidel, but could anyone explain, the above?
