One point for the mountain, one point for the water

Duchess of...................

Certainly there is a rather infamous ducal family associated with these parts and I'm sure fans of horse racing could name two other nearby mountains

Not a horse racing fan, but near Arkle and Foinavon then.

Canisp is similar, seen it from the summit, not seen it from the sea. A bit too far south...

Maybe Ben Hope from Loch Eribol. Piotaskipper will tell us later!

Sorry, can't tell you with any certainty: but I think you may be right!

My apologies for confusing the name of the poster! (Now edited out)

Tis is tantalisingly familiar, BUT...!

It's not Sheildaig or Kishorn but there's a strong similarity to both.

Do I get a point for all the places it's not?

Not being particularly interested in either aristocrats or horses, the clue is no help,
but I'm going for Hecla, from across Loch Skiport, South Uist.

Now you are going to prove that none of us know the North-west as well as we might think!?

I 'ope it's 'orrible!

Good one, but not that one, at least I hope not.

I think it is Ben Stack (719ms) seen from the mouth of Loch Laxford. Its the southernmost of the Foinhaven, Arkle and Stack trio in Sutherland, perhaps the Duchess of Sutherland's trio.

Loch Laxford is a fine place to be, very beautiful and with sheltered anchorages. It feels very remote. Its also a handy place for Handa.

Not long now

Fascadale, that last one is a superb spot; only been in once, long time ago, when the entrance bar gave me one of those 'clenching' moments! Nice pictures too.

I ruled out Ben Stack as your first picture as there is not an orange bouy in sight! I gave up going into L. Laxford when it was almost completely given over to fish and mussel farms and totally cluttered with them.
If they have so fouled the bottom that they've moved elswhere I shall be very happy to go back; it is one of those 'special places' on a good day.

Hi Keith

Loch Laxford was not too bad for cages and mussel farms. Worth a visit. We moored in a sheltered spot by John Ridgeway's place, Loch a'Chadh-fi I think.
